Not only are there three staircases that one must climb to get to the top, but if someone needs to use the bathroom, they are required to travel all the way back down the stairs and make their way to the front of the building.Ĭava is definitely something you need to experience, though. However, at Cava a group of people are not able to just order an appetizer and drinks according to the menu.Īlso, the area is not very accessible. When I hear the word “rooftop” I automatically think of drinks with friends and small plates to share. In fact, I was disappointed to find that I was required to order an entree because otherwise I would be charged a $10 additional dining fee. While the food and surroundings are very enjoyable, Cava is mostly a “special occasions only” dining experience for most people. It was also inspired by the Harry Potter themed room that Cava had downstairs. The Butter Cheese Cake, a butterscotch cheesecake with whipped cream and caramel drizzle was fluffy and sweet.
There in front of us sat several decadent cakes and pastries that it was hard to pass up. When the waitress came over to our table with a tray of dessert options, we felt like royalty. The hint of paprika sprinkled on each piece of chicken added a quick zing to your taste buds. The plate had a generous amount of sauce for dipping and the chicken was tender and juicy.
I ordered the Chicken Espanata which included organic chicken breast topped with spinach, vine tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, red roasted peppers and artichoke hearts served in a lemon white wine sauce and paired with whipped garlic mashed potatoes. The pink and white color palette of the rooftop is clean and polished, and no matter which room we passed or area we looked into, we wished we could dine in all of them. They provided an uplifting ambience that would stay present no matter what decoration theme was in place. The pink cherry blossom trees, however, were my favorite. This green oasis is as welcoming and inviting as the staff at Cava. Up on the roof, one is able to escape away to Neverland where “Peter Pan” shaped shrubbery is there to greet you. Cava in Southington is known for its exquisite dining experience complete with mind-blowing decorations.
